JLoar, Inc. was created to offer business expertise and capital investment to established independent movie and television pros looking to fulfill their vision. Principal John Loar’s approach is simple: “Let’s combine my track record, business acumen, and deal-making skills with the creativity of indie film and TV production veterans to bring worthwhile projects to life.”
Producers and directors with whom Loar has worked to date include Matthew Cooke, Clark Stiles and Bentley Kyle Evans. The company also has an ongoing production deal with Adrian Grenier’s (star of Entourage, The Devil Wears Prada) Reckless Productions which will emphasize the development of films with a social conscience.
ABOUT JOHN LOAR
John Loar has been completing high-level deals for more than two decades. During his ten-year stint as Vice President in charge of mergers, acquisitions, operations and corporate assets for the Blackhawk Corporation he facilitated the sale of the Seattle Seahawks NFL franchise to Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen while helping to manage the exponential growth of the corporation.
He left Blackhawk to start Venture Builders with former PeopleSoft COO Peggy Taylor. Mr. Loar, Ms. Taylor and their team financed several startup ventures in technology, sports and entertainment working with companies like the Walt Disney Corporation and ESPN. Mr. Loar has also dealt successfully with JP Morgan-Chase, ResCap and the Roda Group. He co-founded Red Bird Cinema in 2007 with Kevin Pollak and Tony La Russa.
Mr. Loar currently has several projects under development at Red Bird, where he serves as a producer and executive producer, along with separate efforts under the J. Loar Inc. umbrella. He lives in Danville, CA with his wife, Monica, and their two children.
